ATTRACTIONS AND SHOPPING

Perot Museum of Nature and Science – This new museum is less than one mile from the B&B.  It has 5 floors and can easily fill an entire day.  Advance tickets are highly required.

Dallas World Aquarium has 85,000 gallons of saltwater with marine life from around the world. Visitors can walk through a 22,000-gallon tunnel and experience a panoramic view of reef life. It also features a rain forest exhibit. Just 1.3 miles from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

Deep Ellum is the renovated warehouse district just east of downtown Dallas. It is known as the alternative from the “norm.” It is the home of fashion-forward, trend-setting style and the birthplace for many new bands and exotic restaurants. Just 2 miles from the Inn.

Fair Park is a division of the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. Fair Park is home to nine museums and six performance facilities, including the Music Hall, Smirnoff Music Centre, Band Shell and the Cotton Bowl Stadium. This National Historic Landmark has the largest collection of 1930s Art Deco exposition style architecture in the United States located on 277 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Just 3.4 miles from the Inn.

Knox-Henderson has a large collection of shops and restaurants including Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. Visit a wide variety of restaurants including Abacus, an eclectic five star restaurant and Chuy’s, a Tex-Mex classic. Just 2.7 miles from the Inn.

West End Historic District is a preserved historical district complete with vintage street lamps, brick streets and horse-drawn carriages. There are dozens of restaurants and bars and a theater. The West End is also home to the JFK 6th Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza. This museum examines the life, times and death of the legacy of President John F. Kennedy and is the former Texas School book Depository. Located just 1.5 miles from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

West Village on McKinney Avenue is the new retail square packed with shops (Polo, Anne Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Paul Frank, etc.) and ethnic restaurants including French, Italian, Asian and Russian. It also features an art-house movie theater. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.


MUSEUMS

Dallas Museum of Art is known for its exceptional collection of European, Greek and modern art, as well as special exhibits. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

Just across the street is the Nasher Sculpture Center which has a unique collection of modern sculpture, both inside and out and a great restaurant for lunch.

Crow Collection of Asian Art exhibits works from China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia. Much of the artwork was originally created for religious purposes; therefore, many of the pieces represent deities from various religions including as Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism and Jainism. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

SPAS

Crescent Spa is a 22,000 square foot spa with a variety of treatments and a full salon. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

PERFORMING ARTS

Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center rises proudly in the Dallas Arts District as the architectural and acoustical benchmark by which concert halls around the world are judged. Year-round performances include classical, pops and summer series. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

Majestic Theatre is an architectural landmark in Downtown Dallas. Performances are seven days a week, offering local and Broadway productions including comedy, jazz, plays and dance theater. Just 1.6 miles from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

POINTS OF INTEREST

Dallas Convention Center is the site for many conventions held in Dallas with over 1 million square feet of space. Just 2 miles from the Inn.

Dallas Market Center is the site of Dallas’ many apparel and home furnishing markets. Just 2.3 miles from the Inn.

McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) is less than a block away. It is a historical trolley system that recreates how a real trolley system of the early to mid-twentieth century looked and operated.

SPORTS

American Airlines Center is home to the Dallas Stars (NHL), the Dallas Mavericks (MBA), concerts and special events. Less than a mile from the Inn and accessible by trolley.

Dallas Cowboys (NFL). The cowboy stadium is 15 minutes from the Inn.

Texas Rangers (MLB) play Major League Baseball from April through October at the beautiful Ballpark in Arlington. Just 45 minutes from the Inn.
